Ageing is an important part of all human life and this unwanted process of becoming older makes it more important. It is the last stage of human life, in this stage human life becomes weaker on physical perspective as well as more sensitive and emotional on Psychological perspective. Old people behave just like kids. They seek more attention from family members which is hard to get as everyone is busy in their life. This makes aged persons more insure and vulnerable for many emotional disturbances. Old age is the closing period of the life span. It is a period when people 'move away' from previous more desirable periods or times of 'usefulness'. Old age is considered as a curse being associated with deterioration of all physical, psychological factors, isolation from social, economic and other activities. Old age has been viewed as problematic period of one's life where one indulges in introspection and starts getting meaning out of his life and weak physique makes them increasingly dependent on others and fearful anticipatory speculations of life process makes them anxious whereas, low income and consequent declining position in the family and society leaves them in deep despair. Changing family value system, economic compulsions of the children, neglect and abuse has caused elders to fall through the net of family care. KHARAGPUR LIFE FOUNDATION CHARITABLE SOCIETY Unit - II for the Aged is ideal for elderly people who are alone, face health problems, depression and loneliness. Modern life style has created barriers and time has become very precious in this rat race leaving elderly people unattended. It is being said "A home is heaven where elderly and younger ones are been cared". This has promoted US, the concept of old age homes where their loved ones manage to find a middle path.
